Mother Earth isn’t a mother
Mother Earth isn’t a mother. It is incorrect to think of Earth as a superorganism. It is supraorganismic. Sorry for the clunky term. Calling the Earth a superorganism is like calling yourself a superorgan. You’re more than a collection of organs: you are more than the sum of your parts. Just so, the Earth is much more than the sum of the organisms that live and die on it. It has emergent properties that go way beyond anything analogous to an organism. So, just take this as a friendly critique, friends: the Earth is way cooler than you’re giving it/her/him credit for.
